Orchard Blossom
Starlight Orchard Blossom Rye Whiskey is a small-batch, cask-strength, limited release that captures the estate’s farm-to-bottle spirit in its most expressive form. This release begins with rye whiskey distilled from a portion of grains grown on Starlight’s 700+ acre family farm, produced through the estate’s traditional sweet mash process and double pot distilled on the Vendome copper still. After resting 4 to 6 years in fire-charred, new American white oak, a blend of 8 to 10 barrels is finished across three distinct casks — Jamaican rum, estate honey, and estate peach whiskey — before bottling at cask strength.
A Triple Cask Finish
Where Starlight’s other finishing releases draw on a single rare cask, Orchard Blossom is built from three working in concert. The Jamaican rum casks contribute warmth and tropical depth, the estate honey casks lend a soft natural sweetness true to the farm, and the estate peach whiskey casks tie the whole blend back to Huber’s orchard roots. Layered together, these finishes transform the rye’s spice-forward backbone into something brighter and more expressive – a whiskey that tastes distinctly like the estate it comes from.
